With great sadness, I write to inform you of the passing of the author of this blog. He died in hospital surrounded by his family.

Those of you who have read his posts through the years know that he was an eloquent and forceful writer on philosophical, social, and political subjects. His voice will be missed.

We will leave the blog online for a while before taking it down.
